this guy pretty well.
"Jeez... that was quite a day for you" I
exclaimed.
"Nah... today was a quiet one" he
chuckled back.
I was shocked.
I mean there must have been anything
from £500-1000 in that bundle of notes
that had been handed over and yet here
this guy was passing it off as loose
change.
Either way, it was quite obvious that this
guy was somebody that was worth
knowing. He had a re-assuring warmth
about him... and he clearly knew how to
make a lot of money on the horses!
And so every time I saw him at the cricket
club I'd say hello and invariably we'd get
talking. Often, I'd accompany him to the
bookies on the way home and every
single time a large bundle of notes would
be handed to him over the counter.
Then one day he casually asked 'You not
fancy a flutter at all, lad?'
